Transparency International (TI) is a global movement sharing one vision: a world in which government politics, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free of corruption. Transparency International UK is the UK national chapter of this movement.
London, 11 May 2016 - Responding to news that a bloc of countries is trying to water down the Anti- Corruption Summit communique, a Transparency International spokesperson said:
"Governments that are committed to fighting corruption should stand firm in the face of pressure to water down the Summit communique. It would be better to have fewer countries sign a strong communique than have a lowest common denominator agreed by consensus- that is exactly why so many anti-corruption summits have fallen short in the past."
