Transparency International (TI) is a global movement sharing one vision: a world in which government politics, business, civil society and the daily lives of people are free of corruption. Transparency International UK is the UK national chapter of this movement.
In December 2017, the USA and UK co-host the Global Forum on Asset Recovery (GFAR) – a meeting of practitioners and policy experts focusing on assistance to Nigeria, Ukraine, Tunisia, and Sri Lanka. This paper sets out the strengths and weaknesses of the UK asset recovery system, analyses cases relevant to GFAR countries, and makes recommendations for improvement.
